American Conservative Perspective

Too Little Spent On War Effort too much on Social Liberal Big Government Programs

There is an interesting story in todays edition of the Boston Sunday Herald entitled "Iraq war cost: $3 trillion plus" taken from the Bloomberg News service.
Some left wing hack by the name of Joseph Stiglitz a former economic adviser to former President Clinton made the claim that it was more like $5 trillion which the US has spent on the war effort in Iraq alone. He also stated that "We were trying to make Americans understand how expensive this war was."
Stiglitz also a professor (no surprise here) at well known liberal leaning Columbia University in New York made the outragous claim also a quote from the same story "Because we haven't raised taxes, because we've tried to pretend this war is for free we've been skimping on our treatment of veterans."
Give me a break this hack liberal Joseph Stiglitz back in 2001 won the Nobel prize is using the idea that we didn't raise taxes to fund the war on terror and talk about spitting in ones face using our veterans (which I am one myself) in his liberal mindless agenda is disgusting to say the least but what should one expect from most liberals.
Stiglitz needs to look into all the money that our Government has wasted over the years on the so called "Great Society" under President Lyndon Johnson in the early 1960's and the so called "War on Poverty."This guy Stiglitz wants to talk about how expensive this war in Iraq is when a typical liberal like him won't even acknowlege the trillions upon trillions of dollars on the failed socialistic policies of big Government programs to combat so called poverty and welfare programs.
Give me a break people don't realize that if we spent the amount of money on the military that we have spent on these big government Communist liberal social programs our military would hardly have any casualities in combat due to upgrades in technology.
But in order for the liberals such as the Democrats to stay in power they need to continue this class warfare crap all the time.

 Buckley A Hero To Most

This past week a gentleman passed away respected and revered by most who had the honor to know him.I myself never had the pleasure to meet him.
I speak of the leader of the modern Conservative movement in America the founder of National Review the magazine back in 1955 and host of the PBS show "Firing Line" the honorable William F.Buckley.
His message was one that resonated with patriotism, hope and fidelity to all Americans.
Even those who had a different political philosophy than his meaning obviously liberals and Democrats respected him greatly.
Some of those who respected him greatly as well are fellow Conservatives our former great President the late Ronald W.Reagan and current talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
In this movement that Mr.Buckley lead was one of lowering taxes to the protection of life in the womb to honoring the men and women who serve this nation.
Unlike alot of so called Conservatives today Mr.Buckley never gave an inch or changed his political views not even to agree with moderates or liberals.
I respected him also because he never apologized for who he was or what he was.Mr Buckley was never ashamed of being what he was a TRUE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE. God Bless You Bill!

Cheap Shot By New York Times

I know that it was a week ago almost but its still fresh in alot of peoples minds what the NYT did to the presumed GOP Presidential nominee.
Their hit piece last week on Sen.McCain alleged affair with a lobbyist 40 year old Vicki Iseman going back to 2000.
The lamestream liberal media still doesnot get it do they. This shows their intentions along with their true colors.First they endorse Sen.McCain as the nominee for the GOP field of Presidential candidates then now that he has the field sewn up so to speak now the media goes negative on the phrase they coined McCain as "The Maverick."
Again us here at My Political Opinion doesnot want to give the bloggers out there the feeling that I am carrying the water for Sen.McCain.I am not but with the two left wingers out there in Obama and Clinton who else is there to vote for.
As I have posted at this blog before McCain will need to pick up a Conservative running mate to even have a chance at carrying the GOP heart and soul in the 2008 election for President.
Where he is weak on is the issues concerning the economy.A good choice would be former GOP Presidential candidate and Massachusetts Gov.Mitt Romney a venture capitalist before he was Bay State Governor.Lets hope that he will do as he has been saying concerning the Bush tax cuts to make them permanent.
On immigration McCain made the claim at the CPAC convention earlier this month that he has learned from the error of his ways concerning this hot button issue. He really has no choice our borders need to be secured.
McCain needs to tone down the fact that while in the Senate he has reached across the political asile to work with Democrats on so called key issues.
Bipartisanship is not always a good thing especially when it mostly means Republicans having to give up their core beliefs just to give into the liberal Democrats.
We as American voters need to understand this as well.It is the moderates who claim to be Conservative Republicans who are destroying the very foundations of American Common sense which is Conservatism.

 You Need To Vote

A message to those who will stay home this November and not vote for U.S.Sen John McCain (R-Az) I have a bone to pick with you all.
I agree he's not the most conservative candidate out there but what do you want.I will hold my nose to vote for him.
Do it for the good of the country. We dont need any liberal communitst leaders such as Obama or Clinton for that matter.

Hanoi Jane Puts Foot In Mouth

Is anyone surprised by the latest controversy surrounding the C-word being dropped on the "Today" show by Hanoi Jane Fonda.Had this been a Conservative like Michelle Mulkin or Ann Coulter the left wing womens groups would be protesting to no end.But in true liberal fashion Hanoi Jane is not held accountable by her cohorts in the lamestream media.
This is where Political correctness rears its ugly head time and time again.I have checked the New York Times right after the comments were made nothing mentioned as usual.
This no class or lack there of shows that todays culture is one sided on all the issues.Fonda tried to be hip as she stated after making her derogatory emphasis about the female private area.
I don't expect an apology and even if she does it will only be half hearted.
